The Dark Triad (DT) is a psychological term denoting three malevolent personality traits: Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Machiavellianism. In overt forms, DT traits have marked contrasts to that which is considered neurotypical. However, it is commonplace for these same traits to present covertly, resulting in diminished clinical insight into a client’s biopsychosocial functioning. The prudent clinician must maintain diligence in identifying how DT traits manifest in both clients and their interpersonal relationships. This seminar provides the participant with basic and advanced comprehension that is fundamental for clinicians to achieve an understanding about, and render a diagnosis of associated psychopathologies, treatment methods, neurological contrasts, associated risk factors, behavioral and interpersonal patterns, as well as the social implications surrounding DT traits.
