2020 Lafayette Virtual EMDR Training

Charlene Spears, LCSW-BACS, BCD, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, is proud to offer EMDRIA Approved EMDR Therapy training — Parts I and 2, plus 10 hours of EMDR Group Consultation

The format of this workshop has been designed

by Carol Miles MSW, LCSW LLC

This six-day training will take place November 13-15, 2020 & December 18-20, 2020.  The training is available for licensed mental health professionals working in the non-profit sector, public sector agencies, for-profit agencies/facilities and those in private practice, as well as for graduate students enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate level programs in the mental health field who are working in their internship with an active caseload.  EMDR Training has three separate training components; 2-three day training classes plus 10 hours of consultation (held usually in 2 hours groups making a total of 5 groups). These core trainings, EMDR Part I and Part II train mental health clinicians in the standardized protocol for EMDR treatment and meet all EMDR International Association’s (EMDRIA) requirements for EMDR training.

(For questions about EMDRIA Certification in EMDR, go to www.emdria.org,  EMDR International Association’s website.  Certification comes after completion of an EMDRIA Approved EMDR Training such as this one).

EMDR therapy is a comprehensive psychotherapy that accelerates the treatment of a wide range of pathologies and self-esteem issues related to disturbing events and present life conditions. This interactional, standardized approach has been empirically tested in over 20 randomized controlled studies with trauma patients and hundreds of published case reports evaluating a considerable range of presenting complaints, including depression, anxiety, phobias, excessive grief, somatic conditions and addictions. EMDR therapy is guided by the Adaptive Information Processing Theory which addresses the unprocessed memories that appear to set the basis for a wide range of dysfunction. A number of neurophysiological studies have documented the rapid post treatment EMDR therapy effects.

* The training fee includes the required 10 hours of case consultation. Four hours of consultation will be required after Part One to enroll in the Part Two Training. An additional 6 hours after Part Two will be required to receive the EMDR Training Certificate of Completion.  (EMDRIA Approved Consultants or Consultants-in-training will be provided to participants. (Consultation is provided either face to face, by video conferencing or by phone)
