This workshop will address issues that arise when therapists and their clients experience and process major life events simultaneously, and how therapists can support their clients and sustain themselves.

 The Helping Relationships: This workshop will explore the challenges mental health professionals face in supporting clients with issues the professionals are also currently experiencing (global pandemic, natural disasters, systemic racism). Lifestyle & Career Development: This workshop will address lifestyle and career mindsets that contribute to burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma in therapists, and how to address these barriers in order to foster career longevity. Professional Identity & Practice Issues: This workshop will address the importance of self-regulation, support, and coping strategies in providing competent and ethical care, and will address issues of transference and countertransference when therapist and client are experiencing and processing life events simultaneously.
