This three hour zoom workshop will focus on skill development for counseling professionals who work with clients having addiction issues. Both chemical and process addictions will be discussed. Theory, best practices, skill development, knowledge, culture, gender, and specific populations will be highlighted. Individual, group, couple therapy, and family therapy will be discussed. How to work with challenging client situations will be emphasized. Levels of care and varied treatment settings will be discussed per treatment needs of client. Case examples will be utilized when clarifying concepts.
