Working with clients on the Autism Spectrum can be challenging for clinicians who have little experience with this population. Basic counseling techniques for engaging and reading clients can be misleading or ineffective with autistic clients.
In Speaking the Spectrum, participants will learn effective strategies, techniques and tools for working with clients on the Autism spectrum, specifically Level I (formerly Asperger's Syndrome). As well as how to engage with clients within and outside of session.
This presentation covers diagnoses, prognosis, effective therapeutic strategies, current research, and advocation for clients.
The presenter is Katie Blum, LPC
