Presenter: Gary G. Gintner, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC
When: June 4th, 1:30-4:45 Where: 3-Hour Live Webinar on Zoom Cost: $60.00
Program Description:Case formulation is a way of summarizing a client’s problem and the key factors that contribute to its onset, presentation and persistence. This program describes how DSM-5 can enrich this case formulation process and inform treatment planning. DSM-5 measures and rating scales are discussed with regards to differential diagnosis, case formulation and treatment progress. Diagnostic, case formulation and treatment planning issues are then considered for two common disorders, major depressive disorder and PTSD. For each, a step-by-step process of case formulation is outlined and best practice guidelines are reviewed. Throughout the program case vignettes provide opportunities for participants to practice diagnostic and case formulation skills.
