This course evaluates the evolving policy changes that affect all of all social workers, mental health counselors, psychiatric nurses as well as other health care professionals, as a result of the regional liberalization of cannabis and marijuana laws, specifically related to vaping Cannabinoids such as THC and CBD.

Operational and clinical recommendations are suggested in concordance with a critical examination of the effects of THC, CBD, and Synthetic Cannabis when used with vaping devices at high potency and how they potentially affect patient care in the nursing environment. This information presents a focus on treatment decision making and adverse drug interaction algorithms concerning both THC and CBD and Synthetic Cannabinoids. The webinar identifies "red flags" and warning signs of high potency marijuana use in patients, as well as the guidelines for patient education and discussion concerning improper utilization of cannabis products with outpatient medical prescriptions. The course is specifically designed to explain both official guidance and scientific references for social workers, mental health counselors, and psychiatric nurses as well as other health care professionals.
