This session focuses on brain development in the early years of a child’s life, how traumatic stressors and environments impact that development, and signs to look for in those individuals who have experienced traumatic stressors (a traumatic experience). We will also provide a hands-on learning experience of how stress affects the child’s brain, make sense of behaviors that are seen as a result of those stressors, and how professionals, caregivers, and community members can help support youth that have been affected by trauma.

The workshop is approved for 2.0 CE clock hours for professional counselors; there are no NBCC crdit available for this workshop
