Events of childhood abuse and neglect have a strong negative impact on their development, interrupting the normal course with lingering effects. Our foundational work is The Trauma Model of Colin Ross, MD. We incorporate elements of attachment theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, addictions treatment, person-centered therapy, Milton’s personality styles, and healthy grieving into a cohesive model and strategy for effective treatment for survivors of childhood trauma (abuse and neglect), in order to improve or correct the growth and development that has been stagnated or set awry. We also teach participants how to engage in the process of interpersonal forgiveness as part of the healing process from old wounds, using the Forgiveness model of Dr. Robert Enright.

This workshop is designed for mental health professionals and spiritual caregivers to understand the impact of childhood trauma and provide effective treatment. This psychoeducational program is a holistic model which addresses emotional, cognitive, and behavioral responses, as well as grief and forgiveness. A training manual is included with this workshop.

This workshop is presented by the Trauma Recovery Associates.
