Ethical Approaches to Creating Connections w/African American Clients

2/12/2022 - 2/12/2022
9:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Location: webinar, Sponsored by Goal Digging Therapy; Cost: $75.00; 3.0 CE clock hours in Ethics, zoom presentation

This online workshop presented by Maya Galathe, LPC, will focus on ethical approaches to working with African American clients. Counselors can often overlook important facets of what makes a client who they are, namely race and culture. In the African American client, this often leads to feeling unseen or invisible (Butler & Shillingford-Butler, 2014). Numerous articles in the counseling field discuss how practitioners feel inadequately prepared to work with African American clients; this presentation will provide counselors of all backgrounds with ethically-informed skills to better engage with African American populations and leave with real-life theories and practices to incorporate into their own work. The event Zoom link will be distributed 48 hours before the event begins.
