12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: Live Webinar; Sponsored by LMHCA, Approved for 1.0 CE clock hours, Live Webinar

Presentation Abstract: Self-compassion is linked to well-being and lower levels of depression and anxiety. Research suggests self-compassionate individuals exhibit more self-kindness and mindfulness and feel common humanity. Internal Family Systems therapy, which relies on a multi-mind view of cognition and a belief in a “higher Self,” is well-suited for increasing self-compassion.

Presentation Learning Objectives:
  1. Define self-compassion and become familiar with relevant research;
  2. Become familiar with the multi-mind theory of cognition and IFS's definition of Self;
  3. Learn techniques for increasing self-compassion
