This 3 part learning series will cover basic knowledge of Social Determinants of Health, Infant and Maternal Health Equity and Implicit Bias.

Learning Objectives  

Social Determinants of Health                                                                                                                                                                                                          Describe the importance of social and environmental determinants of health.

Provide an outline and brainstorm ideas of how to incorporate the social determinants of health into services rendered and documentation.
Describe strategies for integrative and collaborative systems to optimize awareness and overcome barriers to the determinants of health that are more prevalent in Lafayette, Louisiana

Maternal Mortality
What is infant & maternal mortality?
How does our environment and social determinants of health impact infant & maternal mortality?
How do we, as providers, collaborate and address these rates with the families we serve?

Implicit Bias
Define implicit bias and discuss the effects on services we offer families.
Discuss strategies to address implicit bias.
How being aware of and addressing implicit biases will positively impact the families we serve.

The three parts of the workshop will award 4.5 CE clock hours.   No NBCC credit is available for this program.
