This training will incorporate the two modalities of EMDR and Sandtray to optimize healing for clients. Through exploring the 8 phases of EMDR, clinicians will learn how to incorporate sandtray into the various phases.
This training will explore the how the two modalities of EMDR and Sandtray can help identify symptoms of dysfunction. In addition, it will allow the clinician to identify how to incorporate the 8 phases of EMDR with sandtray to optimize healing.
Learning Objectives:
Describe briefly the eight phases of EMDR
Discuss EMDR techniques with Sandtray techniques within play therapy room
Identify how both approaches within play therapy strengthen the bilateral hemispheres of the brain
Identify dual awareness within play therapy throughout the 8 phases
Identify how sand tray can titrate the intensity of the EMDR within a play therapy session
Participate in experiential activities
