Children have anxiety. Most parents struggle throughout their children’s lives to determine what is normal vs. abnormal with children’s behavior. Sometimes, it is not the child, but the parent that is projecting their own anxiety. Professionals, clinicians and teachers all sometimes struggle to tease out normal anxiety from more serious diagnoses. In today’s world, where there is so much illness, information and fear, children are suffering in significant ways and the people who care for them are also struggling to help them cope. This workshop will look at what is developmentally appropriate anxiety and when we, as therapists, should look deeper.
