Dr. Ben Garber will speak on understanding the needs of polarized children often associated with high-conflict parental relationships, including, but not limited to divorce and custody. He will also address the role of mental health and family law personnel in mitigating the stressors and potential trauma children in these situations could experience. Dr. Garber’s presentation is informed by many years of experience as a family law consultant, his expertise in child development and family dynamics, and is reflected in his impressive record of publications and invited lectures and workshops.

 The presenter Dr. Ben. Garber is a developmental psychologist and a long-time consultant with family court specializing in child custody and high conflict divorces with an emphasize on the wellbeing of children and adolescents affected by the systemic breakdown. He focuses on the developmental stages of children and how their development is affected by high conflict in their family system. He presents guidelines on working with family courts and the family system with the best interest of the children in mind.
