This workshop will consist of both student paper and poster presentations stemming from individual projects required of their Research Design and Methodology class within the curriculum of a Master of Health Sciences degree in Counseling.  Secondary data sets provided by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) were utilized to formulate hypotheses related to the field of counseling and specifically to the specialty areas of clinical mental health and rehabilitation.  The presenter of this workshop served as the project supervisors for all of the student investigations.  Each student will guide the audience to the relevant background findings from the professional literature; the purpose of their specific study; the methodology and procedure utilized; the results of the statistical analyses; and a discussion of how the findings can influence treatment approaches and/or future research opportunities.  The presenter will serve as a discussant for each of the studies as participants will be encouraged to ask questions and share their relevant experiences pertaining to the research topics.
