PTSD can be thought of as a persistent reaction to a maladaptive situation that effects roughly13% of combat Veterans. A corollary construct to PTSD, moral injury, may better account forthe clinical presentation of some combat exposed Military Members. Counselors and Socialworkers who have a more nuanced understanding of moral injury may ultimately better servethose Military Members who present for treatment after having experienced combat relatedtrauma. An understanding of Military culture is also vital to providing treatment to both active-duty Military and Veterans. Posttraumatic growth and other treatment considerations, such as therole of comorbid conditions, will also be explored.Learning Objectives:?
