Marcela Hernandez, LMSW, will be presenting “Promoting Justice, Equity and Inclusion of Immigrants in Louisiana while facing a World-wide Humanitarian Crisis. ” on February 16th , 2023 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. This event has a goal of filling a practice gap of improving service delivery and addressing personal\organizational misconceptions towards immigrants. The speaker’s goal is for learners to better understand this community and address challenges within organizations. Learners will also work to brainstorm about promoting cultural-sensitive policies at the workplace and develop new initiatives that are inclusive of this population. Overall, Learners will learn to advocate for an inclusive and compassionate language, improve agency/organizational policies, provision of resources available, and promote equity and justice at a personal and professional setting.
