This workshop will provide professionals with specific information about the real, everyday legal issues faced by grandparents raising grandchildren and other kinship caregivers. In Louisiana, 1 in 9 children live with a grandparent or other kinship care provider. These situations bring up major legal, relational, emotional, and economic issues for the families. This workshop reviews specific issues and sources for problem solving.
Learning Objectives: To provide professionals with direct contact with grandparents and other kinship care providers so that they are able to identify caregiver needs - by assessment, conversation, and review of data.
