Woman’s Foundation, along with Acadiana Area Human Services District and Louisiana Department of Health- Office of Behavioral Health are hosting the Community Opioid Symposium on June 8th, 2023.  This is a free hybrid event. Block 1

This event has a goal of sharing five realities of pediatric metal health. The speaker’s goal is for learners to explore challenges to getting help when needed as well as environmental/societal barriers to care.  Learners will increase their knowledge of pediatric mental health diagnoses. Learners will work to improve their understanding of how such diagnoses present and provide resources for families and professionals servicing children’s needs.

Block 2

This workshop will provide attendees with the ability, knowledge and confidence to help understand non-opioid treatment for pain management and the effects of drugs in a community.  Attendees will also be taught the strategies and different terms that are consistent with these approaches. There are several identifiers, logos and terms that are commonly related to non-opioid treatment and the effects of drugs in a community. These items, along with much more, will be discussed. 

Bock 3:  

This workshop will provide attendees with the ability, knowledge and confidence to help understand Fentanyl.  Attendees will also be taught the strategies and different terms that are consistent with these substances. There are several identifiers, logos and terms that are commonly related to Fentanyl. These items, along with much more, will be discussed.

This workshop is approved for 6.0 in Diagnosis; no NBCC credit is approved for this program
