Terrell Learning Day is an opportunity for Mental Health Professionals in the Northshore area to obtain CEU's hosted by the Southeastern University Counseling Center. This particular workshop will focus on Mind and Body connection including PTSD, nutrition, and counselor wellness.

Presentation #1 An Integrative Approach to Mental Health/The Mind Body Connection Paige LeBleu & Leslie Ballard

The presentation will cover key pillars of health including sleep, diet, movement, social engagement and stress management. Lifestyle will be addressed by a look into the Blue Zones, Diagnosis and Treatment issues for depression and anxiety will be covered. The role of the Autonomic System in depression and anxiety symptoms and Polyvagal Theory will be covered.

Presentation #2 Julie Church Brain & Body Connection to Trauma
How trauma presents in clients and how it affects the nervous system.
PTSD criteria in DSM V and real life presentation in clients.
How to practice self care to help soothe the nervous system during activation in and out of session.
Physical experiential activity to practice techniques.
