The presentation will initially cover the role and responsibilities of a supervisor with Practicum and Internship students and progress through working with PLPC's. The ACA Code of Ethics and CACREP Accreditation Standards will provide a framework for the topics covered.
1. Participants will become familiar with the requirements for Practicum and Internship students at their site.
2. Considerations regarding the responsibility of being a gatekeeper for the counseling profession will be discussed.
3. Participants will examine the how their supervision can focus on the developing nature of the supervisee.
4. The four roles of the supervisor (Teacher, Counselor, Consultant, Evaluator) will be covered in terms of their application to the supervision process and how the supervisor can utilize each in their supervision practice.
