Seesion 1 "Ethical Dilemmas and Strategies to Navigate in Counseling Persons Living with HIV or Substance Use disorder(s)", Dr. Clarence Merckerson will talk about cultural and ethical issues related to counseling individuals impacted by HIV and/or substance abuse.
The 2nd session, "Real Lives, Real Stories: Navigating Stigma in the Context of HIV and Substance Use", several community members living with HIV and/or substance use disorders who are also service providers will discuss their experiences, as well as how providers can create stigma-free environments in their organizations and practices. The third session, "Beyond Barriers: Bridging the Gaps Between Community-Based Organizations and Vocational Rehabilitation Services", Ms. Shantel Maurice will discuss ways that community services providers and vocational rehabilitation organizations can work together to better serve individuals living with HIV and/or substance use. and the fourth session, "Navigating Ethical Dilemmas Related to Counseling Families and Clients Living with HIV", Dr. Brittany Dent will talk about ethical issues related to counseling individuals and family members impacted by HIV and substance use.
