Navigating the Intersection: Counseling and Title IX in Higher Education

_During this presentation participants will learn about statistics and other facts bringing awareness to the occurrences of sexual assault and highlighting the need for knowledge and services on college campuses. Participants will explore the role Title IX has in higher education, events that have lead to changes at the national and state level, and steps universities are taking to prevent sexual assault. Participants will be presented with scenarios and asked if they will be required to report. The presentation will share the impact sexual assault has on people, engage in a discussion around the survivors/victim terminology, and how to utilize effective counseling techniques when treating those who have experience sexual assault.
