THIS IS A TWO DAY WORKSHOP OCCURING ON June 7 AND 14

A complete basic course in Anthetic Therapy offering innovative skills for a transformative therapeutic goal of breaking free from emotional pain and its roots in the Inner Critic and prototype learning, along with new concepts and methods for freedom from depression, anxiety, anger, and self-disempowerment.

Counseling Theory: Anthetic Therapy, founded by Dr. James Elliott, is based on a learning model. It sees the reason for emotional distress as the learning we derived from our experiences, both positive and negative. The fundamental goal of Anthetic Therapy is inner freedom for each individual, as he or she disengages from all reactive attachments (e.g., relationships, philosophies of life, and organizations).
The Helping Relationship: The technology for achieving inner freedom consists of Inner Critic work, Anthetic Dialogue, Prototype work, and techniques for becoming free from rigid strategies for dealing with emotional pain. The goal of every session of Anthetic Therapy is what we call Anthetic growth-not growth by shaping yourself into the perfect person, but growth that occurs through an ongoing self-acceptance of the submerged and disowned elements in your personality: reclaiming the full humanness of the natural self, not achieving the perfection demanded by the inner critic.
