In this Continuing Education Unit (CE) workshop, social workers will gain invaluable insights and practical strategies for effectively identifying and supporting students on the autism spectrum. Led by experienced psychologist in field of autism, Dr. Karen Sheridan, this workshop will delve into the unique challenges faced by individuals on the spectrum and explore evidence-based interventions to foster their academic, social, and emotional well-being within educational settings. Participants will learn to recognize the signs of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), understand the impact of ASD on students' learning and behavior, and develop skills for building inclusive and supportive environments.
