Earth is the largest, most accessible and most forgotten of all coregulators. Earth holds us, supports us, nourishes us. Through cultivating an honest and reciprocal relationship with Earth, we can experience coregulation. Eco-Somatics invites us to ask ourselves: what if we viewed Earth as an extension of our bodies? In Ecotherapy circles and indigenous communities this is known as the Earth-Body or Ecological Self. Eco-Somatic EMDR incorporates the idea of the Ecological Self--mind, body and Earth--and how this connection coregulates-- into the 8 phases.
