This workshop will explore effective therapeutic approaches for working with clients who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with a particular focus on overcoming trauma-specific resistance to treatment.  It will provide an in-depth look at the impact of trauma, common barriers to engagement in therapy, and evidence-based interventions to foster trust and progress in treatment.

Key topics include identifying and addressing avoidance behaviors, recognizing the role of shame and fear in resistance, and utilizing trauma-informed strategies to develop a foundation for healing and growth.  Attendees will also learn techniques to help clients navigate trauma-related resistance and establish a compassion-based approach for healing and growth.

This lecture is designed for mental health professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of PTSD treatment and develop practical skills for supporting clients who struggle to engage and make progress in therapy.
